MinaLima, graphic designers on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films series, will open their gallery, House of MinaLima, at a new historic location on Wardour Street, London, on September 1.

The duo are the designers of iconic props and graphic art within the Harry Potter film series, including the Marauders’ Map, the Daily Prophet, the Time Turner, and every single graphic props in the films – giving MinaLima founders Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima a deep understanding of the Wizarding World. After four years and over one million visitors at their old gallery location in Greek Street (just behind The Palace Theatre, home to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), MinaLima will open a new gallery and studio within a four-storey townhouse in the heart of Soho at 157 Wardour Street.

The building will operate as a flagship HQ for MinaLima, uniting the many facets of the design duo’s creativity under one roof: gallery, shop and studio. The new location promises a “truly immersive experience” for fans.

Wardour Street sits at the heart of the historic violin-making centre of the British Isles, and in a press release, MinaLima tells of No.157’s history as the former shop of noted violin-maker Monsieur Georges Chanot III. The gallery will showcase Eduardo and Mira’s nineteen years of collaborative work in graphic design, including pieces from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. Their previous location on Greek Street was a hotspot for fans of the Wizarding World franchise, and regularly rotated galleries to include newer prints and never-before-seen collections.

The gallery and shop will also include work from MinaLima’s classics series, featuring illustrated editions of classic novels (as well as prints and merchandise), and MinaLima’s original Collective Nouns series.

Authentic film props will also be on display in the gallery (yet to be announced), on loan from Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – the Making of Harry Potter, allowing visitors to understand the contributions of MinaLima to the look and feel of the movies, as props and graphic design on the movies are presented to visitors at the new gallery on Wardour Street.

MinaLima’s new location will open on September 1, the same day as Back to Hogwarts celebrations. A new print released on August 19 celebrates the first-ever Back to Hogwarts digital event, to be hosted at WizardingWorld.com, and is available via MinaLima.com.
